Bathed in daylight from floor-to-ceiling windows, the 216 bedrooms at Moxy Williamsburg are smartly designed to strip away the superfluous and focus on comfort and functionality. The corridors leading to the bedrooms are lined in a black, pink, and purple custom wallcovering that shows monkeys cavorting in the jungle with cigars, cocktails, and bottles of vodka. Streamlined shapes and organic-feeling materials, such as Baltic birch and black steel, make the rooms warm and welcoming, and the large windows help the space feel even larger than it is. Moments of surprise — a burst of color here, a suggestive artwork there — give the bedrooms a distinctively Moxy sensibility. A system of wall-mounted pegs and an open closet represent a variation on the trademark Moxy peg wall. A desk folds down from the wall to provide a workspace, with seating courtesy of a whimsical metal chair upholstered in black and yellow. In Executive King rooms, a standalone desk replaces the fold-down desk.
